Smoke Heating saunas (savusauna)

Sauna heating has developed a lot in recent years and infrared and steam saunas for home and health use has become popular. Smoke sauna heating on the other hand, has become less popular and for many reasons.

Smoke saunas do have some definite disadvantages and these include:

• Less ability to control the heat (temperature).
• More of a mess because of the smoke and soot.

Many hard core sauna traditionalists still love the idea of smoke heated saunas and one of the attractions particularly is smell of the smoke and burning timber.

It is quite rare these days to be able to experience the real smoke sauna experience although if you are in a country such as Finland, you might have the opportunity. Traditional smoke saunas are a great experience
