Spa Facts &
Information: Town, home and events
Spas come in all shapes and sizes ranging from
a home spa to a large spa centre through to whole spa towns (such
as Baden Baden in Germany).
Spas tend to be places where wellness treatments are given and
these treatments tend to involve warm water. Thermal (also Term
and Thermae) are also words you will hear often associated with
spas and these are the Roman reference to public bath houses.
Spa centre facilities these days often include far more than
just a thermae or water treatment with the word used to describe
the facilities as a whole. Below some more facts about Spa.
1. Spa is also a small town in Belgium and it is
perhaps most famous because it is the location on the Spa
Belgium F1 Grand Prix each year.
2. Baden Baden is a town very close the the Black
Forest in Germany and this is one the worlds biggest spa
towns.
The main focus and trade for the town is based around its Roman
Baths and spa facilities and wellness hotels.
3. You can also buy Home Spas and
these tend most of the time to come in the form
on Hot Tubs. There are a number of things
you need to consider when
buying a spa including where you will put it, what materials
and surface on which to sit it and how to heat and connect it
to a power supply.
4. Wellness
Gifts come in many forms including massage vouchers,
chocolate making weekends (good for the mind) and hot stone
massage treatments for example. A great gift for your partner
though if you need a Valentine's Day gift is a Spa pass.
A number of companies offer Spa vouchers and pamper days
and sessions.
5. If you live in the UK or plan to visit one
day in the near future, Bath Spa is the UK's only genuine natural
spa. Bath Thermae is based in the center of the town of Bath
in Somerset, England and it dates back to Roman times. This
is an active and working facility so if you are interested to
experience the natural waters then you can do so. If you want
to stay dry then you can still do a tour of the facilities. Bath
Spa in England can be found at The Hetling Pump Room on
Hot Bath Street in Bath.
