Paddington Train Station Tourist Guide
With London being such a large city, there is no way that all of the trains coming into the city can be accommodated in one station. As such, a number of stations have developed around the city over the years, including Paddington Station in the centre of the city. Paddington has a long and colourful history as one of the main portals in and out of the
city.
If travelling from within London, the two easiest ways to access Paddington station are via underground or via bus. If using the underground you will have to use the Bakerloo, Hammersmith and City, Circle or District lines. If you are leaving Paddington using the underground be careful to head towards the correct platform as they are quite widely spread. If using the bus there are a number of options, including the 159, 36, 43 and 23.
In general, trains departing Paddington head west of London. Trains to Wales and the West Country depart from here and stop at many stations along the way. Trains depart regularly throughout the day and can often be sold out way in advance. This, together with the fact that Paddington is one of the biggest and busiest stations in London, means that it can be an idea to purchase your tickets in advance of arriving at the station.
If you arrive for your train too early there are plenty of things to do around Paddington station. There are a number of restaurants, cafes and bars as well as a range of shops. If buying tickets one of the best options for Paddington train tickets is the UK based trainline site.
