Why I Love Living in London, England
Although London is widely acclaimed to be one of the most expensive cities in the world, it is also one of the best places to live. Life in London moves at a fast pace, although there are days when it seems as if time has slowed down, which is precisely why I love living
there. If you were to suddenly stop walking on the street and pay attention the people around, you will see people glancing at their watches, studying tube maps, conversing on telephones and checking the latest developments in the stock market.
I love the simple fact that London literally throbs with life. In fact, the only thing that moves slowly is the traffic during rush hour and that’s only because it can get a bit congested on the city streets. The entire city is fully awake at 9:00 a.m. and you will find crowds milling around coffee shops, newspaper stands, stations, streets and bridges. If you do not approve of high-speed living, London is not the place for you.
Since London is a land of opportunities, you will not find it difficult to find a job here if you are properly qualified and fluent in the language. The people of London are serious about their jobs, but after a hard day’s work, they are the most fun-loving people in the world and lose no time in rushing to theatres, clubs, pubs, restaurants and bars to joke, laugh, and dance and have the time of their lives.
I love London because it has something for everyone, from parks to historical monuments and modern day steel towers; furthermore, you can always find a way to cut costs there. For instance, you can easily reduce the cost of using the tube if you purchase the Oyster Card, which is available at certain shops and stations. In addition to this, you can share your accommodation with trusted friends and find cheap places to eat and you will not only find that the cost of living in London is tolerable, but also that life in London can be great fun.
