Best Parks for Families visiting London
Family Travel in London
There are many parks in and around London, and if you are looking for a cheap day out for your family whilst in the capital city, or somewhere to go and relax and escape from the
concrete jungle, here are a few ideas.
St James’s Park
This large park is found in the centre of London, and with its 23 hectares of grassland, has plenty of room for kids to run and play. The park also has Duck Island and The Mall, which provide diversions for the adults.
Green Park
Green by name, green by nature – Green Park is one of the best places to visit in London for sunbathing, picnicking and playing sports. With its natural beauty and stunning views, Green Park is popular with Londoners of all ages, and is less formal and more relaxed than the more 'mature' St. James Park.
Hyde Park
London's most famous park and the ideal place if you wish to play sports and engage in other outdoor activities with your family. While the park is famous for its outdoor concerts, it also has facilities for horse riding, playing tennis, football, rugby and bowls. After wearing out yourself and your family, there are several restaurants in the park to dine.
Kensington Gardens
Popular with joggers and families, Kensington Gardens is ideal for picnicking and playing, due to its adventure playground, The Diana, Princess of Wales', Memorial Playground. Ideal for those that wish to enjoy London's weather and natural beauty.
