Therme Erding, Munich, Germany
Therme Erding is not only the largest thermal park in Germany, but also the biggest in Europe. The park is famed not only for its thermal baths and water parks, but also its top of the range saunas. Found in Munich, Therme Erding has everything you could possibly want for a relaxing time in thermal park. Visitors can enjoy thermal pools, water jet
massages, and thanks to the park's massive glassdome, they can do all this under the natural sunlight or stars.
Powered by Erding's spring water which is drawn from a deep well over 2km deep, Therme Erding's thermal pools have been described as one of the best ways to relieve stress as well as arthritic and rheumatic pain. However it is the park's saunas that have to be experienced to be believed.
The park has won numerous awards thanks to its 18 saunas and has even been voted Germany's best sauna. Visitors can choose saunas of different temperatures and themes ranging from the cool Tepidarium which has a temperature of 35°C, to the the boiling Erdinger Schwitzstube (“sweat lodge”) where temperatures are as high as 100°C.
The park also has a rose sauna, a citrus sauna, a meditation sauna and a traditional Finnish log cabin sauna which has walls made of kelo wood and an impressive fireplace. The saunas may not be for modest readers as it is an 'all-nude area', but robes and towels are provided for walking around the park. Of course, swimsuits are required for the pools and the rest of the water park.
