La Ferme Thermale d'Eugénie, France

In La Ferme Thermale d'Eugénie,

terms of luxury saunas, you need not look any further than Eugénie-les-Bains in Gascony. The town is home to La Ferme Thermale, a sauna and spa that is housed in a 17th century La Ferme Thermale d'Eugéniefarmhouse, that resembles a palace. The entire town was constructed at the behest of Napoleon III's wife, Eugénie and as such, resembles a village from the vision of Hans Christian Anderson.

The sauna and spa was built on the site of some local thermal springs that provide the centre with a stunning hot spring spas and heated baths. La Ferme Thermale facilities are a mixture of a host of cultures, such as Celtic with the use of hot springs, Graeco-Roman for the use of heated marble baths and that of the Far East for the the facility's Turkish baths.

If you are not into heated and thermal treatments, La Ferme Thermale also offers mud therapies to its patients such as its patented treatment - the white kaolin pasteurised Thermal Mud Bath.

Patients are also treated to herbal teas whilst enjoying their treatments, or they can opt to relax next to the facility’s enormous fireplace. There is even a meditation area in the "Jardin des Quatre Saisons", where visitors can relax on 'sleigh beds'.

The sauna and spa facilities are ideal for those seeking a little bit of luxury while in France. With its design based around the time of Louis XV, it truly is a relaxing step back in time.
